The first consignment of medicines made in India has reached Yemen on Wednesday itself. India has promised a total of 1.9 million doses of the Corona vaccine to Yemen. Yemen has received its first consignment of vaccines under the Kovacs facility drawn from UNICEF, the World Health Organization and a coalition of several countries. This year Yemen is to receive a total of 1.9 million vaccine doses.
The consignment of AstraZeneca vaccine prepared by Serum Institute of India has reached Yemen. It will first be given to health workers and other people, who are more likely to get sick. There are also 13,000 safety boxes and 13,00,000 syringes with doses of 3.6 lakh vaccines sent by India. External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar tweeted about the drug arrival in Yemen. He wrote, 'Arrived at Aden. Landing of vaccines made in India in Yemen. Also S. Jaishankar wrote the hashtag Vaccine Friendship.
